“On December 18th in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam Seoul at The Riverside Hotel, the trio Kim Jong-kook, Kim Jung-nam and Mikey were together again as Turbo, for the release event of their sixth album titled Again. It has been 15 years since the release of Turbo’s last album in 2000. On this sixth Turbo album, comedian Yoo Jae-suk does the intro narration for two of the main tracks. Turbo has a new classic dance track that also incorporates elements of EDM has a throwback feel too it. The famous producer team Double Sidekick, helped in the composing of the song.
The very busy Kim Jong-kook talk about his life recently, saying “I’m trying out anything I can these days. I’m grateful for every day that I have.” When talking about working with other band members again, Kim Jong-kook said “After working solo for a long time and I missed it. There is a certain joy that comes from being able to share the experience as a group. I’m able to rest while the other members do their part, which makes me enjoy it more. It isn’t easy to keep a crowd entertained at an event or concert, by yourself. I’m looking forward to returning as a rapper and choreographer.”
Kim Jong-kook reveals the process of how he asked his costar from SBS’s Running Man, Yoo Jae-suk to make an appearance on his album. “Yoo Jae-suk said he would definitely help me if I made a new album. But he kept helping out other people instead of me! So I talked to him about it a few more times, and then he said he wanted to do it.” revealed Kim Jong-kook. Mikey said “Even before Yoo Jae-suk got big, he was a host for the Turbo fan club founding event.” Jong-kook added “I didn’t know that. Yoo Jae-suk showed me an old photo, but I still dont remember. He is someone we are close with”
At the event, Turbo released the music video for their sixth album titled Again In this music video Lee Kwang-soo and Cha Tae-hyun make special cameo appearances. When talking about the casting of the album Kim Jong-kook said “He is really famous now. Lee kwang-soo, Cha Tae-hyun and I are very close. So he isn’t that famous to me. When did Lee kwang-soo become so famous?” He continued on “I think both their cameos have a big impact on the music video. The ending of the music video is a bit of a Hong Kong movie parody. The chorus gets sung in Chinese”.”
