Annyeonghaseyo, hello everyone. By the time I’m writing this,
THE UNIT HAS ENDED
Today (10 Feb 2018) is the day I anticipated the most yet the day I wish it came slowly… I am so looking forward for THE UNIT final but at the same time I don’t want it to end…!
Just for the final episode, I streamed the show on VLIVE. Urgh thank you VLIVE . saranghamnida. This is going to be a TOTAL SPOILERS!! There, I already say it. Don’t blame me okay, hehe.
Final episode started with the reminiscing of first meeting and auditions, as well as their hope and wish. Then the curtain for the final story lifted with ALL participants perform THE UNIT’s signature songs. Sooo good to see all of them performing on stage together again. Rain came out to officially kicked off the show and the cutie Lee Jung Ha and Lucky explains the voting system for Unit Maker. Many celebrities present at the hall like DIA, NU’EST’s Ren and Aron, Boyfriend, Hello Venus, SPICA, HOTSHOT’s members etc. Shall we call them as Celebrity Unit Supporter?
Final vocal lesson were shown started with cheerful team Black then shifted to team Blue, and the girls. The girls (You & I team) put a show to surprise teacher Jo Hyun Ah lol. It was very funny cos they prank her as it was her birthday and they gifted her snacks (decorated as purse. so creative!) and everyone gave a farewell present to the teachers. Mostly snacks lol
Final performances opened by Unit G with Ting and then You & I. Unit B followed with Dancing with the Devil and Pull Me. Before they perform, all team were accompanied with clips of their final choreo lesson — Marco’s raise me up’s part choreo left me laughing lmao. oh and the TIKTOK video — Team Blue and Marco were voted as team and individual winner respectively!
The next segment should be called as ocean of tears ㅠㅠ They were shown videos of their family members full with laughter and love. The guys teased Dongmyung “hey your twin brother is handsome than you!” haha but major part of this was.. the tears. Everyone were bawling upon hearing the encouraging words by their parents. *wipe tears* and the shocking part was that their parents actually appeared in front of them! Awww! 😀 They then perform their dance routine for the families — Timoteo’s mom was like “Hansol is so cool” HAHA 😀
Next, clips of recent activities of The Unit’s alumni were shown. They also showed Raehwan enlisting. Salute! 😀 Then all 36 final participants have special collaboration performance with a brand-new song (never revealed before) titled ‘PRESENT‘ (click for lyrics) as a gift to fans. Thank you!! ❤
Voting closed as soon as the song ended. We were shown clips of them sharing their feelings with one another. Additionally they were asked what is the meaning of ‘The Unit’ and ask them to left a message to their Unit’s friends. Arghh I will miss you guys!!!
And…. it’s time to announce the winner! It was very nerve-wrecking *덜덜덜* I was sweating as if I’m the one who participated lmao and the ranking were TOTALLY unpredictable I tell ya. Since the first ranking announcement until now it always shocking me. ESPECIALLY FOR THIS ONE. Rain firstly announced the final line up for Unit G (8-3) and switched to Unit B in the same order (Everyone were nervous and arguing why he stops announcing Unit G’s position lol)

There you go!! Our UNIT B and UNIT G! It was a shocking results but looking at the bright sight, everyone deserve a chance. A bit sad for my biases who didn’t get the fixed spot though. But they have done their best. They’ve done a good job! No regrets!! They have given me a special feeling for the past six months. It’s a new beginning and I wish them all the best 🙂

I know many will say “how come Marco be at 5? Why no Jeup? Euna deserves better. Semmi should debut. Seyong should be in top 9 bla bla bla” I know and I totally understand.. *group hugs* But we can’t do anything about this. ㅠㅠ Unit Maker picked the winners. But what I know is we can ALWAYS support them with all our heart. It depends on them — and their agency — how to plan their career ahead. I believe they’ve learnt a lot during the program. The members who get picked experience the same thing as well, so even without THE UNIT, I hope they can still be active and steals our heart.
Just to add some more, actually when I first know about this program I thought KBS was too ambitious to create such program since we already have Produce 101. I was wrong!! I feel that this program is more laid back, not as strict like when I saw PD101, and most importantly they are all like family! I don’t know if it’s the effect of editing or what, from the very first episode when Rain explains why he agree to be part of the show, I’m hooked. I feel warm in the inside so I’m all in. Thank you to KBS, I re-discover Geonie and Feeldog and thanks to you I discover Euijin, Hansol, Jun, and the rest whom I never know before… Maybe I saw Dongmyung in PD101 but I don’t remember at all.. Which means he must’ve get less screen time there. They are all like a precious jewel. I appreciate this program so much. ❤ *emotional much*
