ibyeol (이별) = goodbye/separation
i byeol (이 별) = this star
It’s a wordplay! Same sounds, different spacing, different meaning. The lyric is essentially making a little pun by splitting apart a word that normally means “goodbye” and turning it into “this star.”
The “star” is basically a poetic image for the world they created together, while “goodbye” reminds us that this world is disappearing because their relationship is ending.
